GenZip is developed by Dạ Trư. GenZip runs entirely on your device.
Data we collect
None. GenZip has no accounts, no ads, no usage tracking (telemetry), no automatic crash reports, and never sends your files or file names anywhere.
Data stored on your device
GenZip only stores, in its application data folder on your device:
- application settings;
- the list of recently opened files (can be disabled or cleared in Settings);
- an activity log for troubleshooting, which never contains passwords.
Archive passwords are never written to disk. Uninstalling GenZip or deleting its data folder removes this data.
Network connections
- Microsoft Store version: GenZip does not connect to the network by itself; updates are handled by the Microsoft Store under Microsoft’s policies.
- Version downloaded from the release page: when “Check for updates automatically” is on (it can be turned off in Settings), GenZip sends at most one HTTPS request per day to download the file describing the latest version. The request carries no device identifier, user name or installed version. The hosting service (for example GitHub) may log IP addresses under its own policy.
- When you click Website, Contact support or PayPal, GenZip opens your browser or mail application; that site’s own policy applies from there.
Children
GenZip does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
This policy may be updated together with new versions of GenZip. The Author’s contact details are shown in the About window of the application.
